My mom said to me yesterday, “Well you are kind of weird.” She didn’t say it to be mean. She was pointing out that I have not made much practice of following the “in” crowd. We were having a conversation about the norms that we often challenge in our household. A few years ago, something woke up in me and began to question EVERYTHING. That hasn’t really stopped much since. It began with asking questions of why we do what we do, say what we say, and think what we think as a body of believers, but it has definitely started to morph into a complete way of life now.

A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds. Proverbs 31:10 (The Message)
Choosing what to talk about today was hard, but easy all at the same time. I have so much I want to say to the world about so many different topics, but this is one that pierces my heart in a special way. It cuts me deep to witness a woman not living in her worth. The worth I speak of has nothing to do with monetary value and absolutely everything to with understanding the value of self. There is so much going on in the world that tells us to look or act in certain ways that goes completely against God’s design for us. In the Garden of Eden, Eve was not just haphazardly placed there as an afterthought. She was God’s gift to Adam, because it was not good for him to be alone. She was handcrafted by God to fit perfectly together with Adam.
